Model for monitoring financial assistance for care in the family environment

This article summarises a project promoted by the Department of Social Policy of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, in collaboration with the Matia Gerontological Institute, with the aim of proposing a model for monitoring people receiving financial assistance for care in the family environment (PECEF), and for ensuring both the quality of the care that the dependent person receives and the quality of life of the caregiver in those situations.

The project integrates two parallel and complementary lines of work: on the one hand, a pilot experience with the participation of 320 families from two municipalities in Gipuzkoa; and secondly, the design of support tools and the development of a model for monitoring situations in which that provision occurs, referred to in the catalogue of the Law on the Promotion of Personal Autonomy and Care for People in Situations of Dependency
