Conference organised by the Concello de Ames, which is aimed at people and professionals from all sectors interested in psychological wellbeing in the elderly and active ageing. It will include a round table, two conferences and two practical workshops.

Among the participants, our colleague and researcher at Matia Institute, Sara Marsillas, PhD in psychology from the USC and expert in healthy ageing, will give the conference "Caring for caregivers".

Plátika" Meeting: AGE Discrimination: Ageism, Ageism and Auto-ageism

A new edition of the "Plátika" meetings organised periodically by the Bizan Network of the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council.

This meeting, open to all citizens, will reflect on "Age discrimination: ageism, ageism and self-ageism" and we will work on questions such as: how do I feel about my age, is there a problem with my age, am I being judged because of my age?

Conference: "The importance of caring for the elderly"

On Wednesdays 1, 8 and 15 February, the conference 'The importance of caring for the elderly' will be held in Azpeitia. Among the topics to be discussed are the evolution of the ageing society, the unwanted loneliness of the elderly, the public policies of the Azpeitia Town Council to face this challenge and the presentation of the infrastructures to be implemented in the short term.

Older people and unwanted loneliness

In this conference, Sara Marsillas, researcher at Matia Institute, will analyse the diversity of experiences of loneliness experienced by the elderly, as well as the keys that can help to build a healthy relationship with this feeling.

The course, aimed at both professionals and students of the USC, "Elderly and Quality of Life: unwanted loneliness in older adults", is part of the specific training studies and on demand organised by the Centre of Own Studies of the USC and is organised by the Red Cross Chair. These studies are oriented to continuous training, aimed at specific groups, in this case, with knowledge, experience and interest in gerontological intervention.

Dissemination day of the results of the QAVAD project
