I want to decide about my life, do you know how to support me?

The development of care approaches centred on people's wishes and autonomy entails the need for resources and strategies that promote it. From Matia and ACP Gerontology we wanted to contribute to the establishment of good practices applicable either at home or in social and health centres, with the publication of a material that is part of the project "Routes for the Advancement of Person-Centred Care".

This document, co-financed by the Department of Equality, Justice and Social Policies of the Basque Government, is the result of a collaborative process whose main objective has been to integrate the knowledge and experience provided by the professionals of Matia, with an expert vision, such as that of Teresa Martínez, Dr. in Health Sciences, gerontological psychologist and a reference in Person-Centred Care.

On 13th September we would like to invite you to get to know this publication in detail. We will do so through an hour-long webinar, in which its authors will review and share with all of us the most important aspects of a route that calls for a change in the approach to care, where the self-determination of the person, their ability to decide, their voice... becomes a key part of this knowledge and recognition of the person that we know implies good treatment.
