Cycle of talks "Elhuyar solasaldiak"
Elhuyar and Usurbil Town Council are organising a series of talks that will take place from 14 April to 12 May, every Wednesday, in the Sutegi hall in Usurbil and by streaming, at 18:30 on the portals usurbilkultura.eus and zientzia.eus. The talks will focus on the following topics: the context of COVID-19, care, critical thinking, the ecological construction of the economy and artificial intelligence in language.
The activity is free of charge, although to follow them in person at Sutegi it will be necessary to register in advance.
Calendar of meetings
14 April: "COVID-19aren korapiloak deslotzen" ("Untying the knots of COVID-19"). Ana Galarraga Aiestaran (Elhuyar), will give a conference entitled, in which she will look at the pandemic and vaccines from different approaches.
21st April: "Care". Mayte Sancho Castiello will reflect on the care model that Matia Fundazioa is carrying out with Usurbil Town Council and, on the other hand, Miren Aranguren will present the study on care carried out in Beterri-Buruntzaldea.
28th April: "Critical thinking". Agustín Arrieta Urtizberea, professor of philosophy at the UPV, will talk about the need to develop critical thinking in order to analyse the excess of information we receive in a process of rapid and continuous transformation such as that of today's society. Supported by critical thinking, he will refer to partial and interested information and the need to offer information based on evidence.
5th May: "Ecological reconstruction after COVID-19". Mirene Begiristain Zubillaga and Arturo Elosegi Irurtia.
12th May: Xabier Arregi Iparragirre, lecturer at the UPV/EHU and member of the IXA group, and Xabier Saralegi Urizar, member of Elhuyar, will talk about artificial intelligence in language and, specifically, how to deal with it from a social perspective.
