The need to unify the training of future professionals and the demands of the market in relation to this new way of understanding care for people (PCC) is now becoming apparent. Without the training and social and health care worlds working in unison and coordination in this sense, PCC will advance slowly and with difficulty, and social and health care organisations will have to invest a lot of resources in training their direct care staff, as the implementation and development of PCC involves the incorporation of changes in professionals that are difficult to assimilate with small training actions.
The design and generation of a dual training curriculum, with rigour, based on research, and carried out through participatory processes in which experts and people with experience in the change of model are given a voice, will make it possible to provide future professionals with the necessary skills so that there is no gap between their training and the demands of the market, and will also promote the progress of the PCC model in social and healthcare organisations, contributing to this socio-cultural change throughout Gipuzkoa.
Objectives
- To achieve an approved curriculum design that reflects the essence of the professional plus that the provision of a social and health care service under the PCC entails, which serves as a learning guide (professional objectives, learning outcomes and methodology) for the transfer of knowledge from any centre in Gipuzkoa to current and future professionals of support services and care services for dependent elderly people.
- To complement traditional career paths with a new professional approach.
- Contribute to the transformation of the care service through professionalisation under the PCC model.
- To favour the labour insertion of current and new professionals in the social and health care market.
- To contribute to the development and progress of PCA and to the socio-cultural change that this implies in the social and healthcare field, in order to position Gipuzkoa as a reference in PCA at national and international level.
