1st Hispanic Conference on Age-Friendly Cities and Communities: "Sustainable environments for all".
Date:
14/10/2019 to 16/10/2019
Type: Congress
Line of Knowledge: Active aging and friendliness
Location: Madrid
In line with the Sustainable Development Goals, it is critical to help cities and communities around the world address the challenge of ageing demographics by being age-friendly, creating age-friendly environments that are inclusive and equitable for people of all ages. An age-friendly locality is one in which policies, services and structures related to the physical and social environment are designed and reorganised to support and enable older people to live in dignity, enjoy good health and continue to participate fully and actively in society.
In line with the above and within the framework of the "Global Network of Age-Friendly Cities and Communities", WHO, PAHO and Imserso are organising this meeting with the following objectives:
- To share innovative practices in the creation of age-friendly cities and communities.
- To promote networking, exchange and collaboration between municipalities.
- To identify what information is needed at the local level to create age-friendly environments with special attention to impact measurement and how best to collect and share this information among Spanish-speaking cities and communities.
