6th International Congress on Architecture, Research, Care and Health
ARCH24 will bring together up to 200 international professionals in the fields of healthcare design, planning, development, education and research. The event provides a high-level platform to connect the latest scientific and design practices with current knowledge and innovation trends. The conference theme emphasises the value of evidence and seeks to inspire solutions to important societal challenges around the world.
During this international event, our colleague Elisa Pozo, researcher at Matia Institute, will share some detailed aspects of the research: "Learning to design spaces for living and well-being in elderly care homes. 17 case studies in Asturias and Gipuzkoa in Spain", a work that is part of 'Como en Casa', a pilot project in the framework of the State Strategy for Deinstitutionalisation of the Spanish Ministry of Social Rights and Agenda 2030.
'Como en Casa' delves into multiple aspects of the deinstitutionalisation process, essential for the progressive integration of the Person-Centred Care model in care homes for the elderly throughout Spain, where one of the key aspects to be transformed is the environment, with the aim of creating homely environments.
