Senior Cooperative Housing Forum

Under the slogan “community care, the key to healthy aging”, this forum, organized by the Senior Section of the Cooperative Housing Group of REAS Red de Redes, presented and discussed the different areas necessary to promote non-profit co-housing housing models for the elderly until the end of life, more affordable, sustainable and with community-based care, which promote healthier aging and multiple social benefits.

The event provided an opportunity to discuss the implementation of community-based care, learn about experiences, showcase best practices, and address the challenges of financing, regulations, taxation and access to land for the projects.

During the two days, people from different areas of public administration shared the table, together with technical profiles, researchers and cooperative initiatives of transfer of use in different stages of development and also in coexistence of many points of the State.

Among the guest speakers, our colleague Elisa Pozo, who has offered some keys about the Lugaritz supported housing project and how it is working on the articulation of care through the management, organization and design of the spaces.
