On the occasion of the International Day of Care and Support of the United Nations, the Global Observatory on Long-Term Care will host an event throughout the day, in which a large number of experts in the field will present papers on key issues that need to be addressed to move towards robust, adaptable and equitable long-term care systems worldwide, as well as a special session highlighting the work of the World Health Organization in this area.

Among the participants, our colleague Elisa Pozo, researcher at Matia Institute, will give a presentation on a study developed with data from the project “Como en casa”, entitled: “Learning to design spaces for coexistence and well-being in nursing homes. Results of 17 case studies from Asturias and Gipuzkoa in Spain”.

The presentations will be grouped into the following areas: Unmet long-term care needs; community-based long-term care; financing; professionals; residences of the future and quality of care.
