The deinstitutionalization strategy for a good life in community is a participatory initiative led by the Ministry of Social Rights and Agenda 2030, which responds to a need to move from a model of care based on institutional care to a model of community and personalized care, where people can choose where to live, what supports they need and how they want to receive them, and do so integrated into their community.
The course explores in depth the change in the model of support and care from the conceptual point of view, policies and implementation of changes in institutions and the professional field, offering presentations and debates on the central issues of the change in the model of care both in our country and in the countries of our environment and presenting experiences and alternatives for deinstitutionalization.
Among the speakers at this meeting, our colleague Erkuden Aldaz, co-director of Matia Instituto, will bring to the audience lessons and learnings from "Como en casa", one of the pilot projects that feeds this strategy.
This academic activity is part of the program of the UIMP Summer Courses 2024 and the Specialized Training Plan of the Imserso for 2024, and is aimed primarily at professionals in social services who work in the field of the elderly or people in a situation of dependency, staff of public administrations or private or non-profit entities linked or interested in the subject and students of related disciplines.
