VIII European Best Practices Day on Friendliness
New event organized by Euskadi Lagunkoia, the network of friendly municipalities of Euskadi promoted by the Department of Equality, Justice and Social Policies of the Basque Government, which aims to encourage the participation of the elderly and citizens in general for the improvement of neighborhoods and environments in the municipalities of Euskadi so that we can continue to make our lives as we age.
After an institutional part, there will be a dialogue between three expert researchers on the subject who will talk about how loneliness is defined and their ways of responding to it from the community. They are:
- Elisa Sala Mozos. Researcher of Social Action, Local and Community Public Policies.
- Sara Marsillas. Researcher at Matia Institute.
- Daniel Prieto. Researcher at Complutense University of Madrid.
Afterwards, several workshops will be held where the attendees will be able to participate in the reflection and analysis of the possibilities of a practical approach, in order to be able to take this knowledge to their municipalities or entities and facilitate the implementation of programs. In addition, the tools designed by Euskadi Lagunkoia will be presented so that the municipalities adhered to the network will have more practical resources to support them in carrying out initiatives and programs.
The day will end with the presentation of the Lagunkoia 2024 Award, which aims to value those practices developed by entities of the Basque Country that stand out for their innovation and effectiveness in terms of friendliness in the generation of facilitating living environments for people aging and that this year focuses on initiatives that respond to the challenge.
