In order to have integrated information on the status of people with dementia that allows for adequate care and intervention plans to be created, it is necessary to develop a comprehensive assessment instrument that offers a precise description of the people’s statuses and how capable they are to function in their home setting in accordance with what is relevant to them in relation to their attitudes and values. The assessment of the situation of a person with dementia is a holistic task that cannot and should not fall to a single type of evaluation.
