According to the latest data available from the Municipal Population Census prepared by the National Statistics Institute (INE), 3,210 people aged 65 and older were recorded in Ermua on 1 January 2011, which in relative terms is 19.7% of the total population of the municipality.

The population grows proportionally in number and weight, in a context in which the total population is declining.
