Should the funding of laxatives be reconsidered?

In view of the proven efficacy and safety of laxatives in clinical trials, the age and gender inequalities in the use of laxatives, the impact of constipation on quality of life and the high economic impact on people with fewer resources, the signatories extend an invitation to scientific societies to take a position on this issue so that the authorities responsible for drug funding will consider reviewing this situation.
