Validity and reliability of the Spanish version of the Screen for Cognitive Impairment in Psychiatry (SCIP)

There are few validated tools in Spanish for performing precise evaluations of cognitive functioning in people with advanced dementia. This population is a challenge because of the high number of people who reach these stages and because of the complexity of care required. This paper presents the Spanish validation of an instrument, the Screen for Cognitive Impairment in Psychiatry (SCIP), which allows for the assessment of cognitive functioning in people with advanced Alzheimer’s disease.
