3rd Conference on Inclusion in the Basque Country
Throughout this legislature, the Basque Government's Department of Labour and Employment has made decisive progress in the articulation of policies for inclusion in the Basque Country. In addition to the recent approval of Law 14/2022, of 22 December, on the Basque Income Guarantee and Inclusion System, the 5th Basque Inclusion Plan has been drawn up and approved, which articulates all the policies developed by the different institutions in this area.
This 5th Plan has materialised in the drafting of a first operational plan for the period 2023-2024, which includes an ambitious package of driving measures and experimental projects to make progress in the transformation of the Basque model of inclusion.
In this context, the Palacio Europa in Vitoria Gasteiz will host this 3rd Inclusion Conference in the Basque Country in June, which - following those held in 2021 in Bilbao and in 2022 in Donostia - aims to reflect on two crucial elements for innovation in the design of inclusion policies:
- On the one hand, the territorial dimension of exclusion and inclusion processes, i.e. the importance of factors related to urban planning, housing policy, architectural design, mobility or the different forms of socio-spatial segregation in the itineraries that lead from exclusion to inclusion, and vice versa.
- On the other hand, the personalisation of inclusion policies or, in other words, the formulas for employment, income guarantee, health, housing or education policies to be designed and implemented taking into account the needs, preferences, expectations and priorities of the people they are aimed at.
Among the experts participating in the event, our colleague María Muñoz, director of the Residential Process at Matia, who will share the experience of the house in a round table discussion on: "How to personalise services for social inclusion".
