Helduak Zabaltzen is an initiative promoted by the Basque Government and Euskofederpen, to facilitate the transformation and adaptation of the model of Social Centres for the Elderly, as well as to accompany them towards digitalisation.

Diploma in Occupational Therapy from the University of Zaragoza since 2002. In 2003 she obtained a Master's Degree in Social Gerontology from the same University.
She has worked as an occupational therapist in gerontological centres, Osakidetza and in the Department of Education of the Basque Government.
Since 2007 she has been working at Matia Instituto developing projects related to active ageing, promoting the friendliness of environments through the Euskadi Lagunkoia programme, in the transformation of models of social centres for the elderly and in the development of participatory processes for community activation in local care ecosystems, as well as lifelong learning programmes.
