Knowing how to age. Preventing dependency. A model for the design of didactic material

This article deals with an action-research project based on qualitative methodology with the aim of promoting active and successful ageing, as well as preventing situations of dependency. The basic objectives are: to provide information to older people about the aspects that determine active and healthy ageing; to provide older people with the necessary skills to prevent situations of dependence and achieve successful ageing; to promote the autonomy of older people with disabilities; to provide health and social service professionals with tools to achieve healthy ageing and prevent dependence; and, finally, to generate a change in attitudes and positive thinking about ageing.
